Laura Haase named Director of Operations for the Children’s Services Council of Martin County
On Monday, January 28, 2019 Laura Haase celebrated her 10-year anniversary with the Children’s Services Council of Martin County. She also celebrated a promotion becomming the new Director of Operations. Sarah Gosney, who retired after 6 years of working with the Children’s Services Council, most recently held the position.
Haase said, “It’s an honor to be selected as the next Director of Program Operations for the Children’s Services Council of Martin County and continue to work so closely with the many organizations in our community whose mission is to provide a better life for our residents; not just now, but for future generations.” She continued, “I’m excited for this opportunity and look forward to continuing the valuable work of CSCMC.”
In her new position, Haase will develop and administer the Council’s operations and planning components, as well as supervise the program staff. Her responsibilities will include conducting the community needs assessment and developing and implementing the CSCMC strategic plan.
After interviewing several qualified candidates, David Heaton, Executive Director and Bill Tulko, Council Chair, said the decision was very clear. Heaton recommended the promotion of Laura Haase on Monday to the Council Members who voted unanimously to approve.
Haase brings over 26 years of experience to the position. Prior to joining CSCMC, Haase was the Recreation Administrator for the Martin County Parks and Recreation Department of the Martin County Board of County Commissioners.
The Children’s Services Council of Martin County, an independent special district, was created by voter referendum in 1988 and reauthorized in 2014 to provide a dedicated funding source for local children’s programs. The Council funds programs that provide a healthy foundation for children, create strong, supportive families, foster a safe community and offer children opportunities for success in school and life.
